This Sunday, April 19, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reaffirmed that Venezuela will move towards a new justice that does not criminalize the poorest in this country.

In this regard, during the meeting with various sectors from the state of Zulia, he indicated that for this reason the “Grand National Consultation for New Justice” will be installed next week.

“I said it in the Supreme Court of Justice, when I had the opening of the judicial year, we must go to another justice system that does not criminalize poverty, because it is not only the issue of political violence that Venezuela has experienced since 2019, so I also ask for justice that we go to a truly humane justice system,” he said.

Regarding the Amnesty Law, he recalled that there are crimes that are excluded, but for the sake of coexistence and reunion, the compass was opened for everyone to be heard and evaluated.

“I really want to tell Venezuela, the Amnesty Law has been an extraordinary step that we should not tarnish the process of what is being done, but it is still lacking,” he said.
