President in Charge: Agreement with GEV will increase electricity generation by 5,000 megawatts

The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led the signing of the cooperation agreement between the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) and the company General Electric Vernova from the Sun Hall in the Miraflores Palace, with the objective of strengthening the country's electricity system.
“This memoradum of understanding that is being signed today is also historic for Venezuela, that we can recover such an essential system for the Venezuelan people, I have asked the teams to become the contract as soon as possible to start these works that will allow us to recover in the next 24 months and in the next 4 years a total of 5 thousand megawatts,” said the president in charge.
For his part, the Executive Director of Electric Energy Monitoring at General Electric Vernova, Eric Gray, stated that the company provides 25% of the global energy requirement and highlighted the value of partnering with Venezuela to strengthen its capacities.
He shared the excitement of numerous Venezuelan professionals who make up the company's team to return to the country and contribute to energy generation, to the stabilization of the electrical system and to the fulfillment of electrification commitments.
Gray stressed that this joint effort will make it possible to advance energy prosperity.
