President in Charge announces suspension of Caracas Metro and Railroad services to the Valles del Tuy

The services of the Caracas Metro and the Railroad that connects the city of Caracas with the Valles del Tuy in Miranda state, have been suspended as a preventive measure in the face of the 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes that occurred this Wednesday affecting the states of Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, Miranda, Trujillo and Yaracuy.

“We have decided to suspend the metro and railway systems in order to facilitate rescue efforts,” he announced in statements made this Wednesday on radio and television.

After urging calm, he called on the population to facilitate the deployment of care and rescue agencies to attend to the affected areas.
