President-in-Charge calls on Venezuelan women to defend national sovereignty

This Monday, April 07, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, urged Venezuelan women to take an active role in protecting the country's self-determination and sovereignty.

In this direction, she affirmed that the identity of today's women is connected with the historical struggle of independence heroines and women of indigenous peoples, which is a cultural heritage that should motivate the defense of the national territory.

This was stated at a meeting held in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the Miraflores Palace, as part of the strengthening of the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence.

He argued that it is necessary to build from Venezuela, a feminism that is linked to peace, to coexistence and to the recognition of the other, during a meeting with women from various political sectors for peace and democratic coexistence.

She emphasized that it adds to the recognition of the rights of Venezuelan women of all political tendencies and considered that beyond being defenders of peace and coexistence, women have a responsibility to protect sovereignty in difficult and complex times.

“We must not only be defenders of peace, tranquility, respect, recognition of the unequal, of diversity, but also, as our heroines and as our indigenous peoples, defend the sovereignty of Venezuela, defend the self-determination of Venezuela,” she said.

He also announced that in the next few hours he will go to the country to mark the path of building the future of Venezuelan youth.
