The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, invited the country's religious communities to participate in the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence.
This was stated this Tuesday, in a meeting held with the leaders of these groups where he stated that “I place the institutional bodies for the service (...) I think it is essential to contribute to the care of the population through the operation of health, education and social care centers from different religions because that is a common space and I welcome them”.
In this regard, he valued that these groups “want to follow up on the Amnesty Law, I support it and invite them to be part of the program”.
He pointed out that “there are people who have benefited from other mechanisms of judicial measures that allowed their freedom, and are now planning the conflict. I think that's not the way Venezuelans feel. I don't think that the agenda in Venezuela today, after January 3rd, is conflict, extremism, radicalism (...) I don't see it on the horizon (...) so I ask the interreligious photo to accompany us to follow up on the Amnesty Law”.
He added that “we must not hide (...) let's leave the word conflict aside and stop planning conflict to take political advantage of partisan situations. We already know where January 3 took us and we don't want it.”
