President in charge Delcy Rodríguez heads the celebration of the National Day of Fishermen and Food

This Saturday, March 14, from Falcón state, the president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led the events on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day of Fishermen, Aquaculturists and Food.
The president in charge was accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Food (MINPPAL) Carlos Leal Tellería, of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo , Governor Victor Clark, as well as the fishing people, women fishermen and power organized popular.
“I want to greet the men and women of our blue Venezuela, of the sea. Today we have come to celebrate National Food Day, with extraordinary achievements in a country that, despite the blockade, today can say that we have a full supply of food for Venezuelans and for Venezuelan women,” he said.
In this regard, he specified that “of the 37 products in the essential basket, 29 are sovereign and nationals of full sovereignty in our country”.
He explained that in 2017 nutritional vulnerability was 30.5% and we closed 2025 with 3%, and our goal for this year of 2% became one of the countries in the region with the lowest nutritional deficit. “It's easy to say, isn't it? , but there is the commitment of our working people, of the peasants, of the fishermen, of the businessmen, of the industry, who have a coherent policy directed by the national government, to serve the most vulnerable, and that today, a blocked country, we can show those numbers should not make us proud that we can say that we have full supply and significantly reduce the nutritional deficit”.
He also stated that “our objective is that neither a boy nor a girl has a
nutritional deficit in Venezuela, so the efforts of the national, regional and local
governments must be directed together with the people, together with you.”
