The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Monday a Meeting with the Victims of
Hate and Violence in the country, and confirmed her commitment to justice in
each of the causes, following the enactment of the Law on Amnesty and Democratic Coexistence.
“We have known each other for a long time because we have been very close
to each of the causes; I am also going to speak as a victim of pointfixism
and I hear the pain that a mother can feel when losing a child (...) because
there, too, it must be said that in the violence of 2014, 2017, State security officials
died precisely fighting
violent demonstrations,” Rodríguez recalled from the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.
He said that, during these violent demonstrations, the
extreme right used practically war devices “and there we lost
officials of the Venezuelan State, the son of Mrs. Zoraida, Captain
Bracho of the National Guard, is an example of so many others who lost their lives.”
Another example used by the president in charge was that of
Orlando Figuera, who described it as one of “the most terrible expressions of hate
crimes (...) and if we review the history of Venezuela, we
will realize that in political violence there have been several factors
triggering it”, such as the social and political exclusion “of those who have
had projects to surrender national sovereignty”.
