“You carry the spirit of Father Simon Bolivar, his teachings, his legacy, his military doctrine.” With these words, the President in charge of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Delcy Rodríguez, saying goodbye to the Simón Bolívar School Ship (BE-11) at pier 23 of the International Port of La Guaira.
During his speech, to the 120 cadets that make up the crew, Rodríguez stressed that this trip will take them to five nations in the Caribbean and Latin America.
“They're going to Granada, Dominica, Mexico, Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis. They go with the emotion of being Venezuelans, with the certainty that nothing defeats us, nothing collapses us, we always rise up in the face of difficulties and we are always going for victory, which is the triumph of Venezuela,” he said.
Rodríguez stressed that unity and national cohesion are the basis for overcoming any challenge.
“Our triumph is unity, encounter, consensus. May we definitely defeat hatred and intolerance, and may the encounter between Venezuelans and Venezuelans prevail,” he said.
Rodríguez asked the cadets to take on this mission with historical meaning.
“You carry the spirit of the Liberator, his military doctrine, what Bolivar taught us: to be men and women of the State, to understand the values of the Republic and the greatness of being Venezuelan and Venezuelan. Sail the seas and return in three months with the same courage and love for Venezuela,” he said before wishing them “good wind and good sea”.
The Simon Bolivar School Ship (Bravo Eco 11), will carry the Bolivarian message on the 214th anniversary of independence, flying the national tricolor flag and the symbolic sword of the Liberator as an expression of the ideology of emancipation, peace, union and fraternity.
