This Sunday, April 19, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that the Pilgrimage for a Venezuela Without Sanctions and Peace belongs to all of us who love the Homeland.
“We have called for a pilgrimage for a Venezuela free of sanctions; we don't just say this from a material point of view, I'm talking about a new spirituality. This new spirituality must be free of classism, xenophobia, the contempt to which it is different; this pilgrimage is a prayer in national union for the new Venezuela (...) That is why I have asked that all of Venezuela be added to this pilgrimage; here there is no owner of this pilgrimage, it belongs to the Venezuelans who love our country and who respect our history”, he said during a meeting with all sectors from the state of Zulia.
He reaffirmed that he will continue to work for the country that new generations should enjoy, which must be one in which there is no hatred or sanctions. “I ask for the cessation of sanctions against Venezuela, all the sanctions, that there is not one left, because we have taken steps thanks to this diplomatic dialogue, but we have to go further to take advantage of economic potential,” he said.
In this regard, he mentioned the recovery of Venezuela's representation in the International Monetary Fund. “And right now we are there fighting for the 5 billion dollars that are from Venezuela,” he said, recalling that these funds were denied to the country for political reasons in 2020.
He also assured that the recovery of this money will serve to recover various infrastructures, improve the issue of electricity, water, hospitals; as well as to invest in the production of strategic sectors, in the income of workers and “give stability to our international reserves and macroeconomic balances that allow us to support the national economy.”
“I ask that in our country there be prayer every day for Venezuela and that this pilgrimage allows us to walk together, that it allows us to see each other among different people, that it allows us to dialogue and understand each other. Bring us the victory of Venezuela free of sanctions that allow it to fly high enough for the dignity of our country,” he said.
