President-in-Charge: Women must be guaranteed a life free from work and domestic violence

This Monday, April 07, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that it is of fundamental importance to guarantee Venezuelan women a life free of violence, as well as to eradicate labor and domestic violence, referring to the fourth vertex of the Great Venezuela Women's Mission (GMVM) it is called “Eradication Against Women's Violence and Timely Gender Justice”.


“It's essential and fundamental,” he said at a meeting held in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the Miraflores Palace, as part of the strengthening of the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence.

In this regard, she said that “women workers are still victims of sexual harassment. If they are, I have seen it with my own eyes, I sometimes go around to visit factories and one day I said to my team: I was shocked. And I called for a sexual harassment investigation against a young woman. I saw it with my own eyes, it wasn't that they told me or reported it.”

The president in charge stressed that if we “can see this type of situation so superficially, it means that deep down there is one. There is workplace harassment and there is sexual harassment, there is domestic violence. Of course there is.”

In this context, she said that it is important that “we all recognize each other and know that there are common objectives and spaces of struggles where we come together as women.”
