This Thursday, June 13, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted that the restoration of the Mukumbarí Cable Car in Mérida was carried out with a great effort, since that was when Venezuela lost all its revenues.
“It was at the time when inflation reached 344 thousand, we didn't stop working, they didn't want to sell us the spare parts or the wiring, but we got them, and I can say that this cable car, which is the largest in the world, at the worst moment of the economic war, we did it again,” said the Head of State during the National Economic Council in the Los Andes Region.
For her part, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that binational trade has also been becoming more dynamic, thanks to the opening of the border with Colombia.
In this regard, the National President explained that from January to May, Venezuelan imports from Colombia increased by 54% and exports from Venezuela to the neighboring country by 16%.
Faced with this, he reaffirmed the need for the commercial, business and industrial sectors of the Andes to come together to achieve a balance between imports and exports between Colombia and Venezuela.
