This Wednesday, January 17, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted how revolutionary youth were born to defeat and stop the violence of opposition youth movements that have always tried to destabilize the country.
“All the media, at that time there were no social networks, favored that opposition movement that wanted to set fire to the country, in fact they set fire to some cities, and only those faces appeared and that had a tremendous effect, because they were no longer (Henrique) Capriles, (Henry) Ramos Allup; they changed their faces (...) but suddenly some boys appeared on national television, tremendous leaders, it was a victorious counteroffensive designed by the mind of the great strategist,” said the National President, recalling the intervention of young people such as Robert Serra and Héctor Rodríguez in the National Assembly (AN) in 2007.
In that sense, during Episode No. 5 of the Maduro Podcast, the first fighter Cilia Flores emphasized that this action of the revolutionary youth greatly boosted the people's morale. “Real people saw the arguments, the reasoning of student boys, who even (Hugo) Chávez said: I want to meet with these boys,” he said.
In view of this, Rodríguez recalled what that moment was like to organize what the presentation to the AN would be like that year. “We had to show what we are, what chavismos is, what patriotic youth is,” he said and specified that that was the difference with those opposition youth who only followed orders from a marketing company.
At the same time, President Maduro stressed that this decision was and is a key concept, “always showing us what we are, the truth, transparent, for better or for worse.”
