President of Ecuador summoned the Security Council for the escape of a dangerous leader of a criminal gang

This Sunday, after the escape of the leader of the criminal group “Los Choneros” José Adolfo Macías Salazar, alias “Fito”, the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, convened an urgent meeting of the Security Council in the city of Guayaquil.

The information was provided by Roberto Izurieta, Secretary General of Communication, and security measures will be broadcast on national television at 19:00 local time.

As for the fugitive's whereabouts, the commander of Zone 4, Colonel Richard Vaca, indicated that “those of us who know the prison know that it must be holed up somewhere in the prison”, while stressing that “we estimate that in the next 24 hours the official communication that will come from the authorities that are directly responsible for the intervention will be released”.

According to what was published on the Telesur website, Macías Villamar was arrested in 2011 and sentenced to 34 years in prison for organized crime, drug trafficking, murder and other crimes.
