The commanders of the eight Strategic Integral Defense Regions (REDI) that make up the country's Territorial Defensive System spoke out in rejection of a recent statement issued by the leader of the violent groups of the extreme right, Edmundo González Urrutia and his running mate, María Corina Machado, to ignore the country's legal system and the will of the people expressed on July 28.

In a statement read this Wednesday, M/G Manuel Castillo Rengifo, commander of the REDI Los Andes, described these seditious calls from the extreme right as a lack of respect for the morals, ethics and honor of the military institution.

“We are defenders of constitutional guarantees and the laws of the Republic, so we reject these calls,” emphasized the senior military officer.

In the same way, the REDI Los Llanos commander, M/G Lenín Lorenzo Ramírez Villasmil, assured that these calls from the extreme right constitute incitement to hate, while urging understanding, harmony and peace in the country.

“We confirm absolute loyalty to our constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros. Reelected by the sovereign for the presidential term 2025-2031,” he emphasized

For his part, Admiral Ashraf Abdel Hadis Suleiman Gutiérrez, commander of the Insular Maritime REDI, stressed that the FANB continues to resist attacks from the Venezuelan extreme right and imperialism, in order to guarantee peace within our country.

“For our country, destabilizing plans continue on the part of those who only seek to seize our resources to favor the economic interests of North American imperialism,” he stressed.
