The vice-president of the Permanent Committee on Foreign Policy of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Roy Daza, said that the resumption of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the United States marks the beginning of a new political moment, which seeks mutual recognition and the end of a cycle harmful to the national economy.
During an interview on the Al Aire program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he said that this approach will allow the presence of diplomatic missions in both capitals.
In this regard, he pointed out that the policy of the Venezuelan State is aimed at maintaining ties of respect and equality with all countries of the world to overcome the collapse generated by unilateral coercive measures in social plans.
Referring to the exercise of foreign policy and the current challenges, Daza explained the importance of maintaining open communication channels to achieve concrete solutions.
“Diplomacy consists of constantly discussing and dialoguing to reach agreements that must then be fulfilled. When an actor closes that path out of dogmatism, he simply denies one of the noblest offices of humanity and a fundamental tool for stability,” he stressed.
In the case of the stability of the international oil market, the deputy mentioned that it depends to a large extent on Venezuelan production, which is a reality that the sectors promoting sanctions ignored at the time.
In his opinion, this economic factor, added to the country's growth despite restrictions, will lead the vast majority of nations to resume diplomatic contact with Caracas under a vision of pragmatism and shared benefit.
The member of the Special Commission for Monitoring the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence highlighted the success of the regulation, which received unanimous approval in the National Parliament as a mechanism to defuse extreme polarization.
He also clarified that this legal instrument does not imply impunity or oblivion, but rather represents a necessary political step for all sectors to recognize each other.
Daza asserted that the central objective of this legislation lies in building national peace and strengthening the democratic system in the face of currents that attempt to destabilize institutions from outside.
