The president of the Simon Bolivar Study Center (CESB), Alejandro López, stated that the call seeks to concentrate specialists and historians in the same space to examine the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress and the shared interests in cooperation and friendship between nations, within a framework of regional defense.

López made the statement during the installation of the International Colloquium “Homeland is America”, held at the Planning School in Caracas, where more than 200 papers are being held with delegations from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Spain, reported the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

He explained that the days, scheduled until Monday to coincide with the date of the Bicentennial, allow us to gather analysis and research on the Congress of Panama, considered a starting point where independent and democratic republics met to discuss common issues.

He indicated that the meeting vindicates values linked to the Bolivarian ideology and stressed the importance of strengthening America as a bloc in the international context marked by armed conflicts.

He recalled that the legacy of the Liberator calls for peace, solidarity and equal treatment under the principle of balance, understood as the relationship between nations without impositions.
