El president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez, led the public consultation on the Venezuelan Red Cross Law this Saturday and pointed out that “making a law to protect those they protect can only be food for the soul”.
El parliamentarian pointed out that the approval of this Law is “a way of thanking all of you who give so much in silence and often without recognition”, so he assured that next Tuesday the 24th the legal instrument will be approved in its second discussion.
Agregó that more than 300 proposals were received and included during the creation process, and he explained that the result “is a very concise, but very important law, that complies with International Treaties of Humanitarian Law, that respects the neutrality and independence that the Red Cross has throughout the world, that preserves the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, that respects international treaties and that mainly establishes the framework for you to be able to more easily, with greater independence and with greater autonomy to carry out their work for disaster support and for vulnerable people”.
