With the objective of combining dreams and creative potential to transform the neighborhood, the San Agustín sector began the School of Mural Intervention, a program of the Guaguancó de Colores urban revitalization project.
Under the direction of Luis Leiva and coordinated by Silene Luna, 12 students will explore the paths that build collective imaginaries. This program, which is part of the 100% San Agustín Teatro Alameda Workshop-School, focuses on teaching mural intervention techniques.
The initiative seeks to train participants in the art of creating murals that reflect identity and promote reflection in the community. The school, which only teaches artistic techniques, also encourages community participation and the transformation of the urban environment through art.
Murals, as public artistic expressions, have the potential to generate identity, promote reflection and embellish urban spaces not only in this sector, but of all those who join this artistic cause.
