Regional teams from the National Disarmament Service (SENADES) took off in several Venezuelan states with an agenda of preventive and comprehensive care operations during the celebration of the Carnival, with the objective of promoting values of coexistence, the use of non-war toys and compliance with the current law on gun control.
From strategic points between vulnerable communities, tourist centers and passenger terminals, the operation achieved a positive impact in the following states of Zulia, Falcón, Lara, Portuguesa and Yaracuy.
In the Zulian community of Vista el Lago, in the La Salina sector, 85 boys and girls were treated with recreational days that emphasized awareness of the danger of war games and their negative influence on child development.
Meanwhile, the program “Happy Carnivals in Community” arrived at Playa El Carmen, Carirubana municipality of Falcón, where in partnership with the National Institute against Racial Discrimination, SENADES provided an afternoon of dances and competitions to strengthen healthy coexistence.
In the state of Lara, the children of the “Guardians of the Fatherland” enjoyed four days of vacation at the Galician Center in Barquisimeto, rescuing traditional games such as sack racing and encouraging integration into aquatic environments.
Meanwhile, in the Portuguese state, sports activities were carried out, and a critical call was made to drivers about the prohibition of the consumption of alcohol and drugs to ensure a safe return.
Finally, in the Independencia municipality, Yaracuy state, information days were held for the general public on the Law for the Disarmament and Control of Arms and Ammunition, raising public awareness about the misuse of firearms.
