9,60 requests related to the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence have been received and processed to date by the Special Monitoring Commission, said its president, Deputy Jorge Arreaza, through his social networks.

Arreaza explained that 5,628 people have been fully released as part of law enforcement. Of that total, 245 people were deprived of their liberty and 5,383 were under precautionary measures at large.

It should be noted that the Amnesty for Democratic Coexistence Act establishes a procedure that begins with the application to the court handling the case.

The judge evaluates the file, verifies that the facts do not correspond to crimes excluded by the regulations and decides on the appropriateness of the request.

The legal period to resolve is 15 days from the formal filing of the request.
