The president of the Special Commission for the Monitoring of the Amnesty Law, Deputy Jorge Arreaza, reported that the number of requests submitted to this parliamentary body amounted to 7,436.

Arreaza specified that the processing of these files is carried out in a coordinated manner between the National Assembly (AN), the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and the Public Ministry (MP).

The deputy indicated that the flow of requests has maintained an upward trend since the entry into force of the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence, on February 20.

He explained that the reception mechanism allows family members, lawyers and civil organizations to submit the necessary technical documentation for each case.

The Special Commission evaluates the appropriateness of measures of freedom or the filing of cases, and then transmits the reports to the judiciary for final execution, Ultime News reported.
