- On February 12, 2019, the president of Narnia, Juan Guaidó, announced plans for a foreign military intervention to remove President Nicolás Maduro from the Miraflores Palace, in turn proclaiming the arrival of supposed humanitarian aid.
- Aid Live Venezuela (live aid for Venezuela) was a great “humanitarian disguise”, with a wide media spectrum, that would serve as a smokescreen to carry out the invasion of Venezuela by launching a supposed “philanthropic” concert, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), to raise funds in the border city of Cúcuta, Colombia.
- The sponsor, producer and organizer of this “philanthropic” gesture was British magnate and billionaire Richard Brandson, a well-known friend of child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and a frequent passenger on the Lolita Express private jet. His fortune is estimated at U$D 4 billion.
- On the 22nd, this great show was held, which tried to camouflage the true intentions of invading Venezuelan territory. The event was designed as a Trojan Horse to cross borders and set fire to the country.
- Two days earlier, three American Hercules military planes had landed in Cucuta, which disembarked alleged boxes containing food. They were also transporting marines and war material.
- The Battle of the Bridges was fought on several fronts. There were sieges of military installations and armed clashes in the Tachirense city of Ureña, on the international bridges of Tienditas, Simón Bolívar and Francisco de Paula Santander, throughout Saturday.
- Santa Elena de Uairén, in Bolívar state, also served as the stage for another border battle.
- On the 23rd, three deserters from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) seized two armored vehicles, broke the dividing fences, ran over several people and called for the desertion of other members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
- The purpose was to turn San Antonio del Táchira into a beachhead, to set up a headquarters for international forces and establish a parallel government in order to invade Venezuela.
- However, the popular mobilization became effective, and the media, located on the Venezuelan side, showed the living forces of the civic-military-police fusion rejecting the attempted incursion.
- Meanwhile, from the mountains and under the bridges, paramilitary groups, paid for by the far right, threw stones, Molotov cocktails and threatened with firearms.
- Freddy Bernal, who at the time was Protector of the Táchira State, revealed that long before, Venezuelan intelligence services already knew the real invasion plans and how they should prepare to face them.
- Bernal even observed, at close range, marines patrolling across the river, commanding groups of irregulars and wearing their military uniforms and badges.
- That afternoon, Admiral Gilberto Pinto warned about the possible loss of the battle at the Simon Bolivar Bridge. Paramilitary groups were advancing.
- When the patriotic troops were exhausted and the militias exhausted, a murmur began to resound; in a matter of seconds, without giving the order, the fighters of the civic-military-police fusion advanced and counterattacked the invaders with unparalleled force.
- All the ground that had been lost in 10 hours was recovered in 10 minutes. That victory secured peace in Venezuela and prevented a long-term civil war.
- After the overwhelming defeat suffered by Elliot Abrams, the Lima Group, Almagro, Duque, Uribe, Brandson and the puppet Guaidó, subsequent events turned the “humanitarian aid show” into an international scandal.
- Unexpectedly, the handguns loaded with USAID shipments burned on the Colombian side.
- A few days later, on March 10, an investigation by the New York Times revealed a video that showed that gangolas full of supposed humanitarian aid were set on fire by a Molotov cocktail thrown by border guards and that only a small part of the cargo was food or medicine, the rest was made up of material to arm terrorist groups and create violence on the border.
- The resounding failure of the invasion plan, the thousands of cameras that were able to record what really happened, served as material for the documentary by filmmaker Carlos Azpurua “The Battle of the Bridges”, which is an imperishable testimony of this heroic feat inscribed in the golden pages of our glorious contemporary history.
