The Bolivarian Government celebrated the reopening of the emblematic Plaza Miranda de Los Teques, a space completely recovered, modernized and equipped with technology, for the enjoyment of citizens.
The renovation project involved a profound intervention of 4,300 square meters, transforming the square into a modern, safe and functional space. The work included aesthetic and structural improvements such as the installation of 1,700 meters of cobblestones, the installation of 160 luminaires, the planting of 1,200 meters of grass and 600 plants, and the restoration of the monoliths finished in granite.
In an effort to ensure security and connectivity, the new Plaza Miranda incorporates a system of 14 security cameras (six internal and eight external), an emergency button, a virtual assistant with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and free Internet service. In addition, the space was adapted with power outlets and benches, a calisthenics machine, a new children's playground, bathrooms, and two commercial premises.
In this regard, the mayor of the Guaicaipura municipality, Farith Fraija, expressed his “immense joy and pride” for returning this meeting point to the town for their “enjoyment and recreation”.
The mayor, accompanied by the president of the Chamber Luis Nieves, the chronicler Manuel Almeida and the historian Saúl Rivas, unveiled the restored sculpture in honor of the hero Francisco de Miranda.
Also in attendance were the first lady, Jenny Ahumada, as well as the Deputy Minister of Peace Affairs, Emilio Feriozzi and the representative Gustavo Villapol.
The event was also the reason for a significant tribute to the writer and former deputy Carmen Bohórquez, on whom the City Council imposed the Grand Chief Guaicaipura Order in its Only Class.
