A multidisciplinary team led by the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services, Jorge Márquez, inspected the work being carried out for risk mitigation in the states of Mérida, Barinas, Apure and Guárico.

The supervisory day focused on the rehabilitation of bridges and the reconstruction of roads affected by recent floods, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE).

In the state of Mérida, the comprehensive recovery of the bridge over the Guarurí River was carried out, a work that is 80% complete and will make it possible to normalize traffic between the states of Mérida and Táchira.

For their part, accompanied by the governor of Apure, Wilmer Rodríguez, Transportation and Public Works authorities confirmed the progress of the embankment of the Mensector, located on the left bank of the Apure River. This work will prevent the overflow that, in July 2025, generated floods in the City of Nutrias, located in the Sosa de Barinas municipality.

Meanwhile, in the Manglarote sector, in Apure state, the construction of an alternate 2.5-kilometer road continues to restore traffic after the undermining caused by the flooding of the Apure River.

The deployment progressed to the La Negra sector, where the reconstruction and asphalting of the Camaguán-La Negra section in Guárico is being consolidated. To date, it has registered 50% progress on a road of 800 meters.
