The Regional Health System of the state of Aragua carried out 459 ophthalmic surgical interventions during the first half of the year, a figure that responds directly to the requirements channeled through the VenApp and 1x10 of Good Governance.
The teams from the Maracay Central Hospital and the Aragua Regional Ophthalmological Center apply phacoemulsification to treat cataracts, an ultrasound technique that fragments the opaque lens, and complement each procedure with the provision of free intraocular lenses, the Ministry of Popular Power for Health reported via Telegram.
This care activity has allowed patients to regain their visual independence, thus re-establishing an essential function for daily life without economic barriers.
