The Single Health Authority of La Guaira began a day of vector control and environmental sanitation

With the objective of safeguarding public health and preventing the spread of vector-borne diseases, the Single Health Authority of the state of La Guaira, Nelare Bermúdez, announced an intensive deployment of fumigation and health control with special emphasis on the Caraballeda, La Guaira and Macuto parishes.

The conference, Venezolana de Televisión reported on its website, has a specialized contingent of fumigators and health inspectors organized into work crews, who strategically and simultaneously cover sectors to mitigate epidemiological risks in the area.

Bermúdez highlighted that field actions include fumigation, spraying, disinfection and deratization, aimed at curbing the proliferation of mosquitoes and other vector agents following recent environmental contingencies.

“The intention of this operation is to achieve greater reach in the determined territorial axes to guarantee the protection of our citizens,” he stressed.

He also reported that “to date, the team has protected more than 16,000 people through the various procedures carried out, not only in the community in general, but also in field hospitals and temporary camps.”

The work is carried out in strict compliance with environmental regulations to ensure the well-being of all inhabitants in a preventive manner, so a call was also made for the active participation of the community in the adoption of preventive measures from home.
