The Single Housing Registry has more than 2,800 people registered in La Guaira

The Single Housing Registry Platform has registered more than 2,800 people who lost their homes after the earthquakes of last June 24 in the state of La Guaira, as part of the national census carried out by the Ministry of Popular Power for Housing and Habitat to serve affected families.

This was announced by the Minister of Housing and Habitat, Laura Posani, during a tour of the La Lucha sector, in Maiquetía, from where she also reported that the deployment of registration has extended beyond temporary camps to incorporate communities where collapsed housing is also reported.

“We are moving, as the territory is being characterized, they were originally the camps, now we are in the neighborhood, recording the people who have fallen their houses in the neighborhood, and then we are going to be in other places in La Guaira,” he explained.

Posani indicated that the only requirement to join the census is to present an identity card, since the platform is integrated with different official databases, allowing personal information to be automatically completed.

He noted that subsequently, those affected provide data on the lost home, the family unit and other aspects, after which they receive a QR code that certifies their registration in the system.

The minister specified that the registration began in a camp that houses about 1,300 families and in sectors such as Suma and La Llovizna, in addition to extending to the Los Caracas camp and other communities in La Guaira.

He also stressed that the information-gathering days are taking place on an ongoing basis. “We say we know when we started, but we don't know when we finished. (...) We don't have a schedule,” he said, acknowledging the work done by the teams deployed in the state.
