UCS Táchira students and teachers organize a batch of donated drugs

Students and teachers from the University of Health Sciences (UCS) in the state of Táchira joined efforts as volunteers to classify a batch of donated drugs, a task that will speed up the distribution of medical supplies to the country's capital.

During a report broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the institution's teacher, Dr. Beatriz Acero, reported that a section of her team assumes the organization of pediatric drugs: “then they classify and put them in boxes” while noting that outside the box it is identified.

He indicated that the same procedure applies to treatments for adults. “We have what are antihypertensive pills, antiallergic pills, antispasmodic pills, and all of that is also identified and placed outside the box.”

In addition, Acero explained that intravenous solutions and medications are also distributed in separate containers.

“And well, this is a big help, why? Because the drugs arrive classified in Caracas and only with what is identified out of the box, they can be mobilized and no longer have to start classifying and identifying them, but they already know what each medication is for and if they are pediatric or are for adult use,” he stressed.
