Venezuela and Nigeria explore opportunities for energy cooperation

Through a phone call this Monday between their foreign ministers, Yván Gil and Yusuf Tuggar, Venezuela and Nigeria reviewed their bilateral relations.
‎De according to information published by the Venezuelan foreign minister on his Telegram channel, during the meeting, “opportunities for cooperation in various areas, such as energy, were explored, with a special focus on gas exploration, given that both countries are important producers of hydrocarbons”.

‎Además, indicated that they addressed collaboration in the educational and agricultural fields, “highlighting the production and commercialization of fertilizers. These areas will be addressed in the Second Nigeria-Venezuela Joint Commission, which we will be planning for the near future.”
‎Recientemente, through a telephone dialogue, Gil and Tuggar agreed to promote the Second Nigeria-Venezuela Joint Intergovernmental Commission in 2026, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation in strategic areas, such as energy, gas, agriculture, air connectivity, food security and trade, as well as to promote a business forum among their productive sectors.
