The Secretary of the National Defense Council (SECODENA), MG José Adelino Ornelas Ferreira, accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to the Russian Federation, MG Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigú, to discuss issues of bilateral interest.

According to information published by SECODENA, the above-mentioned meeting was held within the framework of the meeting of senior BRICS + officials responsible for National Security issues, which is taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia.

It is expected that in this activity, participants will address the deepening of interaction in the field of international security; the landscape of modern threats to security and the fight against terrorism, and security in the use of information and communication.

Delegations from Brazil, Egypt, India, Iran, China, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, South Africa, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mauritania, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Russia and Venezuela participate in this activity.
