As part of the Diplomacy of Peace actions with the countries of the world, a Venezuelan delegation developed a technical-commercial agenda in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, with the objective of strengthening agreements on fishing and aquaculture.

The commission set up dialogue tables and carried out technical visits to the ports of SAIL and Cevihas; in addition, it held a valuable consultative meeting with more than 200 fishermen to evaluate the operating conditions and needs of both the local fleet and the Venezuelan fishermen residing in that country.

The activity will make it possible to evaluate mechanisms aimed at creating better conditions for seafarers, as well as opening up opportunities for commercial exchange between Venezuela and Suriname.

The Venezuelan commission moved forward with a firm step and high diplomacy in the revision of bilateral agreements, which guarantees decent standards and a successful commercial exchange for both nations.
