The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Monday with the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis, to strengthen ties of cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, held in Geneva within the framework of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), the authorities reviewed diplomatic and bilateral relations, “with the objective of strengthening mutual cooperation for the benefit of our peoples, always respecting national sovereignty,” Foreign Minister Gil detailed on his Telegram channel.
At the meeting, both diplomats also shared impressions on issues of international geopolitics, where Venezuela advocates the construction of a pluricentric and multipolar world, in which respect for the self-determination of peoples and other principles contained in the Charter of the United Nations (UN) prevails.
In the context of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, the Venezuelan minister will maintain a work agenda in Geneva, with a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of several countries and international organizations.
