Venezuela brings to the UN a Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace backed by economic recovery and sustainable development

In the framework of the eighty-first (81st) session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the delegation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, led by President Delcy Rodríguez, comes to New York City to deploy an agenda focused on Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, the defense of sovereignty and the consolidation of multilateralism.

The presence of the high-level delegation projects a firm, active and constructive foreign policy, which attends the international meeting with the support of macroeconomic indicators of recovery.

According to the projections presented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Venezuela estimates a growth of close to 7.4% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for this period, driven by a solid expansion of the non-oil sector of more than 6.9%.

This technical validation by multilateral organizations demonstrates the effectiveness of the productive diversification model and reaffirms that international dialogue and the defense of the framework of the UN Charter generate alliances of mutual benefit and tangible results for the nation.

The relationship between the Bolivarian Government and the United Nations System has evolved from short-term emergency care to a model of strategic cooperation on a large scale. This mechanism is focused on three fundamental pillars: sustainable development, technological transfer and the shielding of the social protection system of the Venezuelan people.

This synergy was consolidated after the institutional and technical response to the recent seismic contingency registered in the country. Through coordinated scientific and logistical deployment between national authorities and the team of the UN Resident Coordinator, Gianluca Rampolla, master lines of housing recovery were structured for affected communities.

“In a very special way, we want to thank the United Nations, in the person of Resident Coordinator Gianluca Rampolla, for their immediate deployment and technical-humanitarian support following the contingency of the seismic event. This scientific and logistical articulation demonstrates the value of multilateralism based on solidarity,” said the Venezuelan president during working meetings at the Miraflores Palace.

As part of this Peace Diplomacy road map, the National Executive held key meetings with the Regional Director of UNDP, Michelle Muschett, making progress in the presentation of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA). This internationalized methodology makes it possible to accurately quantify the socio-economic impact of the contingency to direct public investment towards the reconstruction of infrastructure under standards of resilience and environmental sustainability.

“We held an extraordinary working meeting with the Regional Director of UNDP, Michelle Muschett, to evaluate the response and recovery plan after the earthquakes. Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to multilateralism to move towards a resilient infrastructure and guarantee the social protection of our people,” said President Delcy Rodríguez.

Venezuela is present at the 81st session with an eye on integral development, advocating global priorities such as balanced productive growth, environmental protection, peace and the just governance of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to close development gaps in the Global South.
