Through his Telegram channel, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, highlighted that this Saturday, March 14, Venezuela celebrates 81 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Russia.
“Today we commemorate 81 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Russia, a milestone that has consolidated a formal framework for cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres,” he said.
In addition, he recalled that since 2000 the relationship between the two countries presented a “significant turning point, driven by Commander Hugo Chávez, who promoted the strengthening of the alliance between the two nations through brotherhood in a complex global context.”
He stated that since then, cooperation between Russia and Venezuela has encompassed various areas, including energy, defense, science and technology, as well as mutual political exchange and support in international forums. At the same time, he emphasized that the Bolivarian Government remains committed to continuing to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with the Soviet country.
“On behalf of the Bolivarian Government, we reaffirm our commitment to continue strengthening this alliance, within the framework of our peace diplomacy and our willingness to cooperate with all the peoples of the world,” he said.
