As part of Venezuela's successful participation in the TTG Travel Experience fair in Rimini, Italy, the Consul General of the South American country in Naples, Javier Gómez, held a working meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Daniella Cabello, and the organizer of the Mediterranean Tourism Exchange (BMT), Fabrizio Cantella.

This day is a direct follow-up to the recent statements made by the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who reaffirmed the primary role of international tourism cooperation for the country's development. This commitment, backed by the efforts to adapt the airport infrastructure following the recent double earthquake, sets the tone for consolidating Motor Tourism as a strategic axis abroad.

During the meeting, the formal proposal for Venezuela to be a “Host Country” was presented at the 30th edition of the BMT in Naples, from March 3 to 5, 2027.

Minister Cabello expressed great interest and invited the organizing committee to the next Venezuelan International Tourism Fair (FITVEN) next December, in order to start technical working groups.

The delegation also celebrated the memorandum of understanding with the airline ITA Airways, signed by the Venezuelan ambassador to Italy, María Elena Uzzo, and the first deputy minister, Oliver Blanco, which will connect both nations with three weekly flights starting March 30, 2027.

Consul General Gómez stressed that Naples and southern Italy represent the ideal setting to promote “root tourism”, taking advantage of the cultural and historical proximity to Venezuela. This vision is enhanced by the twinning agreement between the Port of Naples and the Venezuelan Ministry of Tourism, signed in 2023.

To materialize all these advances, it was agreed to hold the next Fam Trips (familiarization trips) aimed at Italian tour operators and media. This will allow them to experience first-hand the supply and security of the Venezuelan destination, ensuring successful commercialization in 2027.

With these actions, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to position Venezuela as a world-class destination, strengthening ties of brotherhood and cooperation with the Italian Republic through tourism.
