Venezuela debuted with a resounding victory against the current champion in the Softball World Cup

The Men 's National Softball Team made a great debut in the discipline after shutting out the current champion Australia 7-0, at the Fernando Ortiz Stadium, in Mexico.


One of the protagonists of the match was the pitcher Maiker Pimentel, who had an outstanding performance on the mound, after pitching the full game, striking out 12 batters, allowing only three hits and granting one walk all day long .


Those led by Pedro Sánchez will face their second challenge in the world cup, this Thursday against Mexico at 11 p.m. (Venezuelan time).

The Softball World Cup will take place between June 12 and 16 in Hermosillo, Mexico.


Venezuela is in Group A alongside Australia, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Philippines.
While group B is made up of Argentina, Hong Kong (China), Israel, New Zealand, Singapore and Canada, which will be played in Prince Albert, Canada, from July 10 to 14.
