Venezuela recognizes in Geneva the work of the Independent Expert of the International Order George Katrougalos

In a meeting with the Independent Expert of International Order, George Katrougalos, this Tuesday the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, expressed the recognition of the Bolivarian Government “for its work in defense of international law, the sovereignty of peoples and their right to live free from unilateral (MCU) and extraterritorial coercive measures.”

Through a post on his Telegram channel, the Venezuelan foreign minister stressed that the MCUs seek to undermine the economic and social rights of peoples, “what experts have described as collective punishment.”

The meeting took place in Geneva, Switzerland, where both representatives are participating in the 61st session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations Organization.

George Katrougalos is professor of Public Law at the Democritus University of Thrace and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece. He is vice-president of the International Association of Constitutional Law (AIDC) and an expert in Human Rights, Comparative Constitutional Law, Democracy, Social Rights and Social Policy.
