Venezuela closed the open water day with one silver medal and two bronze medals in the 3-kilometer finals played in Puerto de San Souci during the Central American Games in Santo Domingo 2026.

In men's, Ronaldo Zambrano won silver and Diego Vera won bronze, in addition to securing the double national podium in the short distance of the competitive program, according to information provided by the Ministry of Sports.

Both advanced from the tie with times of 22:45.0 for Vera and 22:46.0 for Zambrano, while in the semifinals they placed second and fifth respectively, allowing them to qualify for the decisive series.

In the final, Zambrano recorded 6:57.3 to secure silver and Vera scored 7:00.8 to take bronze.

For women, Paola Pérez took third place with a score of 7:58.2 and added a new result to her performance in the event, in addition to adding this medal to the victory achieved in the 10 kilometers.
