Venezuelan men's water polo advanced to the quarterfinals at the Central American Games

The men's national water polo team advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating the Dominican Republic 25-2 at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
Venezuela's victory came from the first quarter, when Jhonder Perdomo scored the first penalty goal and was led by Ángel Rojas with another pair of goals to close with a favorable first set of 8-1.
An impenetrable defense and three goals extended the 11-1 lead in the second eight minutes, and in the third quarter Hugo Velázquez, Alexander Morey, Mikhail De Bie, Rojas and Perdomo scored another ten goals to extend the gap 21-1.
In the fourth quarter, Jesús Caridad (2), Tony Fernández and Víctor Fernández scored the win 25-2.
The top scorers in the match were Mikhail de Bie, Ángel Rojas, Jonder Perdomo and Jesús Caridad with four goals each.
This victory consolidates the Venezuelan team's pace on their way to the quarterfinals, where this Thursday they face Cuba (4:00 p.m.) in the pool of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo.
For their part, the women gave way in their third match, this time to the representatives of Cuba in an 8-10 rank party.
