Venezuela's national speed skating team wins 13 medals in the Pan American Championship

The Venezuelan skating team completed an outstanding performance at the 2026 Pan American Speed Skating Championship, held in Guarne, Antioquia, Colombia, winning a total of 13 medals, distributed in three gold, one silver and nine bronze medals.

The Venezuelan harvest began on the first day with the award of the juvenile Diego Colmenares, who won the gold medal in the 200-meter finish line (MCM) followed by Daniela Bustamante who won the bronze medal in the 5,000 meters by points in the senior category, while Roberto García also took the podium by winning bronze in the 200-meter senior MCM, the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports said in a press release.

During the second day of competition, Venezuela expanded its score thanks to the bronze medals won by Camila Cabanzo and Colmenares in the 500 meters longest in the junior category, and García in the senior category.

On the third day, the successes continued for the national representation with Angy Quintero who won the bronze medal in the 1,000 meters senior, while Colmenares once again stood out by winning the silver medal in the 1,000 meters in the junior category.
