1,169 officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) were accredited by the Experimental Security University (UNES) as criminal investigators for cases of crimes with sentences of less than 8 years in prison, the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace reported.

During the activity, the Deputy Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, C/G Humberto Ramírez, explained that Venezuela has more than 5 thousand police investigators who have all the necessary preparation to respond to reported cases.

“When we empower the police, we territorialize attention to citizens who for some reason cannot go to the CICPC to file their complaint, but do have a police headquarters nearby,” said Ramírez.

In this regard, he stressed that these new researchers will actively participate in the processes of the Houses of Justice to ensure an effective mechanism in judicial matters.
