21,400 tons of food distributed at more than 500 Sovereign Countryside Fairs nationwide

The Minister of Popular Power for Food, Carlos Leal Tellería, reported that this weekend 521 Sovereign Field Fairs are being held simultaneously throughout the national territory, in order to guarantee the people's right to food.

Speaking to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) from Sucre state, he indicated that during these days a total of 21,400 tons of food are distributed, as part of the deployment of the Plan for Love and Food Prosperity, whose objective is to bring products from the basic basket and proteins directly to communities at solidarity prices.

Tellería stressed that the efficiency of these days lies in the organization of the Community Government, which not only coordinates logistics, but also adds its own primary production to the distribution system.

“If there is one thing we see during these days, it is the presence of the production of the communal economy progressing significantly; this translates into food security, food for our people,” he said.

The deployment of the Sovereign Field Fairs reaffirms the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to protect the table of Venezuelans and strengthen the productive fabric from the grassroots.

At the Sovereign Countryside Fairs, the foods you can buy include eggs, legumes, chicken, meat, rice, sugar, oil, flour, and others.
