This Sunday, September 1, thousands of people returned to the streets of Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities to demand that the Government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu conclude an agreement with the Palestinian resistance to release the hostages it has been holding in the Gaza Strip since October 7.

According to international media, 300,000 Israelis participated in the protests, which also took place in Jerusalem or Haifa. It is reported that the police suppressed the demonstrators in the capital city, leaving 29 arrested, in addition to another five in Jerusalem.

The demonstrators took Kaplan and Begin avenues, adjacent to the headquarters of the occupying army, and a significant group of them cut off the Ayalón highway in both directions. Objects were burned there to paralyze traffic.

The police charged them. He threw stun grenades at them and used pressurized water cannons to throw this liquid mixed with smelly products at them. The protests were considered by local media to be the largest since October 7, 2023 to date.

Family members of the hostages and others once again demanded that Netanyahu prioritize the release of the captives over his interest in extending the war crimes of the Zionist occupation and staying in power.
