The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, made a strategic visit this Tuesday to the “El Cafetal” Direct Social Property Company, after a meeting with coffee growers from various regions and representatives of 100 communes in the country, in the Portuguese state.
During the tour, in which she was accompanied by Carlos Márquez and Ramón Reinoso, members of the National High Level Commission for the coffee sector, the president was able to verify firsthand the operational capabilities of this roaster, which is proudly managed by 79 municipalities in the states: Portuguesa, Lara, Yaracuy and Trujillo.
This plant, which restarted operations in May under a management model with a social and human sense, processes the harvest of more than 30,000 local producers, eliminating intermediaries and strengthening the peasant economy throughout the value chain, from planting to commercialization.
The initiative is part of the National Community Coffee Plan 2024-2026, a public policy designed to rescue and strengthen national coffee cultivation through direct financing, the supply of inputs, price stabilization and the opening of international markets.
From Venezuela to the world
The results are overwhelming: thanks to the efforts of the People's Power, Venezuela has doubled its production, reaching more than four million quintals and consolidating 450 national brands. In particular, the “El Cafetal” roaster exemplifies the success of this productive chain, achieving that Venezuelan coffee, in addition to guaranteeing domestic self-sufficiency, conquers palates around the world.
Currently, 50% of the exportable supply is destined for the United States, while the rest successfully reaches markets such as Spain, Russia, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Türkiye, Syria, Australia, the Netherlands and Japan.
The Community Coffee Plan is not only an agri-food engine, but a commitment to economic freedom and sustainability, ensuring that coffee, one of the country's 38 strategic sectors, remains a symbol of quality and hard work done in Venezuela for the whole world.
