The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, oversaw the progress of the comprehensive recovery works being carried out at the Dr. José María Vargas Regional General Hospital, located in the Vargas municipality of the state of La Guaira, affected by the double earthquake of June 24.

During the visit to the José María Vargas Hospital, one of the most impacted centers, Rodríguez highlighted the steadfastness of the medical and healthcare team that stood by to deal with emergencies, despite severe personal and material injuries.

“The spirit of the staff is what excites us the most. They lost co-workers and they themselves, being victims and being in the rubble, stayed here to care for patients. That spirit, that mystique and that spirit show us that we are facing a new Venezuela and that a better future is possible,” said the National President.

In this regard, he asserted that this spirit demonstrated by the workers of the José María Varga Hospital is the one that “will allow us to meet again and move towards a great future for the nation.”

In addition, the Head of State emphasized that the recovery plan covers all the hospitals in the state of La Guaira, ensuring that each of these spaces will be fully operational for the service of the people.

Rodríguez pointed out that as the international agreements signed by the Government begin to pay dividends to Venezuela, investment in hospital network equipment and to guarantee the right to health of Venezuelan families will increase progressively.
