At least 60 people died and hundreds are missing due to the collapse of the Arbaat dam in eastern Sudan.

In this regard, the head of the Red Sea State Water Corporation, Omer Issa Tahir, specified that the accident occurred due to heavy rains that caused floods.


“The priority is to evacuate those trapped by the floods,” Tahir said, adding that rescue teams are currently working.
