A success! Cabello highlighted the participation of the People in the Popular Consultation 2024

This Monday, April 22, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, highlighted that the participation of the People in the 2024 National Popular Consultation was a great success and demonstrated to the world how participatory and leading democracy works in our country.

“Yesterday there was an extraordinary Popular Consultation bringing alive the letter of our Constitution, a participatory and leading democracy, where the People decide (...) An extraordinary success, the participation and the great awareness of the people of Venezuela,” said Cabello during the PSUV press conference.

He also highlighted the great organizational structure that Venezuela has from the ground up. “It's almost a luxury to have an organizational structure of the country at all levels and this time it was up to the Community Councils, the People's Power, to reflect and express their opinion on communal projects in each of the sectors,” he stressed.

He recalled that before in Venezuela, nothing was consulted with the People. “It was never done; when Commander Chávez consulted the People or tried to consult the People in 99 about the Constituent Assembly, they immediately went to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to try to invalidate that possibility,” he said.

He stressed that with the Bolivarian Revolution that changed, now our People are being consulted and “now we will see the results and the execution of these projects together with the People.”
