A total of 1,638 citizens are campaigning in Yaracuy as candidates in
the elections of justices of the peace. The candidates go out house to house to present themselves and express their willingness to be elected next Sunday, December 15
The state director of the Ministry of Popular Power for the Communes, Germán Prado, stressed that in each of the 112 registered communal circuits in the state, about 14 people applied, on average, to aspire to become communal judges. He highlighted that the electoral campaign began on December 5, with community days, house-to-house tours and participation in the media, local media said.
Candidates have until Friday, December 13, to carry out their election campaign. In each commune, three justices of the peace and their alternates will be selected, through direct election in centers authorized throughout the state for such purposes.
