The Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE) is carrying out an important deployment in the state of La Guaira, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and optical radars to generate satellite images that allow specialists from Civil Protection (PC) and the Minister of People's Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT) to evaluate soils and infrastructure after earthquakes.
The information was provided by the head of this ministerial body, Yván Gil, in his account on the social network Telegram, in which he indicated that these tasks make it possible to mitigate risks in the phase of comprehensive reconstruction promoted by the Bolivarian Government, in a message on his social networks.
The information was released after the visit to the Agency's headquarters, “to learn more about the great work, advances and projections of this key institution in space technology and the development of our nation”.
Along the same lines, he commented that the work of the ABAE is vital to manage Venezuelan satellites and they also generate geospatial data applied to agriculture, mining, security and risk management.
Gil appreciated the reception and the valuable information provided by the president of the ABAE, Colonel Adolfo Godoy Pernía; the executive director, María Guarirapa, and the director of Space Applications (DAE), Verónica De Souza.
