Actress Zoraya Sanz received the Artistic Glories of Venezuela Award

The Venezuelan actress, Zoraya Sanz, received the Artistic Glories of Venezuela Award for her more than 60 years of cinematographic career.

“Zoraya represents a tribute to Afro-Venezuelan women. A worthy heir to the Cimarrones and Cimarronas, of figures such as José Leonardo Chirinos. Your interpretations connect us to a rich history of struggle and resistance, reminding us of the importance of our history,” said the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, who awarded the recognition to the artist.

For her part, the honored actress expressed her joy at such a memorable award

“The great happiness, how great I feel. Right now I feel like a real actress, thank you. Really, I'm excited. I never imagined this moment. What can I tell you? I repeat, I never thought I would be here receiving this tribute,” he said.

During the activity, Sanz also received three valuable handmade gifts: The painter Rodríguez Catarí, in the name of the Historical Route, presented him with a personalized portrait of himself.
